Phoenix Court ranks among world’s top investors as EMEA’s number 1

Dealroom has today published its first-ever annual Power Law Global Investor Ranking, recognising Phoenix Court as the number 13 venture investor in the world for backing high-growth companies at Seed.

This ranking of the world's best funds puts Phoenix Court in the 0.01% of successful investors globally, and the only European fund in the top 15 investors in the world.

Phoenix Court has invested in 21 startups at Seed (through our early-stage fund LocalGlobe), which have gone on to become Thoroughbreds, companies that generate over $100M in revenue. This includes Wise, Gamma, Tide, Mistral, Cleo, Figma and Robinhood.

Our Colts, companies generating $25M+ in revenue, include fast-growing companies such as: Accurx, Adzuna, Rossum, SignalA, Cuvva and Empathy.

European tech has over 700 VC-backed Thoroughbreds and thousands more Colts. It's a more grounded measure of the ecosystem's health than speculative valuations, and one Phoenix Court pays close attention to.

"Unicorn status has become shorthand for success, but valuation is not the same as performance. What we wanted to surface with this ranking is the investors who have consistently backed companies that go on to build real, durable revenue at scale. Every fund in the top 50 is among the very best Seed investors in the world. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The full ranking covers every venture investor globally, with the depth of data to benchmark performance across stages, geographies and strategies," Yoram Wijngaarde, founder and CEO, Dealroom.

"Every Thoroughbred in this ranking has a name behind it. Twenty-one founding teams backed by Phoenix Court at Seed are now running companies generating over $100 million in revenue. Fifty-nine have crossed $25 million. That places us 13th globally and first in EMEA. More importantly, it reflects what the ranking is really about: founders who had a vision and built it into something real and sustainable. Europe has always had the talent and the science. Now, it increasingly has the capital to produce the next generation of global champions. We feel lucky to be on the journey with them," Ziv Reichert, Investor, Phoenix Court.
