Max Pavier

Max is part of our special projects team, supporting portfolio companies on hiring as well as Phoenix Court’s own hiring strategy.

He brings 15 years of talent leadership across hypergrowth companies, with a background in headhunting and building selection systems from scratch. He co-founded Academy, a LocalGlobe-backed company that turned people with non-technical backgrounds into software engineers. With a <1% acceptance rate, Max hatched the idea during his time as Talent Director at THG, at a time when they were hiring 2000 people per year. Before this he was a headhunter across Europe for companies like Booking.com.

Max left school at 16 and was a talent director by 23. He's an absolutist about the bar and willing to take bets on people, with a keen eye for self-generated advantage: people who win because of what they’ve built, not what they’ve sat behind. Away from work, Max is usually on a bike, or signed up to an endurance event he'll regret soon after starting.
